Beth Quimby-Hopkins
Ms. Beth Quimby-Hopkins, an accomplished pianist and singer, is a native of Williamsville, New York. She is the Director of Music at Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart in Buffalo, NY and a former member of the keyboard faculty at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, MD. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree (magna cum laude) in piano from Hope College, Holland, MI and a Master of Music degree in piano from the Peabody Conservatory of Music (Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD).
Piano Highlights: Second place winner, Garrison Piano Competition 2006. Major teachers include Dorothy Soong, Sue Vasquez, Claudio Vasquez, Ann Newton Vaughn, Charles Aschbrenner, and Ellen Mack. Additional studies and master classes with Nancy Roldan, Katherine Jacobson, Leon Fleisher, Paul Barnes, Sergey Senkov, Frina Archanska Boldt, and Natalya Antonova. Choral conducting studies with Weston Noble at the Westminster Conducting Institute, Westminster Choir College of Rider University, Princeton, NJ. Performances throughout New York State, the Baltimore-Washington-Annapolis region, Michigan, Nebraska, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Moscow, Russia. Appearances with the Annapolis Symphony, the Hope College Symphony and the Peabody Camerata; accompanying credits include the Metropolitan Young Artists' Competition (Washington D.C., the Gretchen Hood Competition (Arlington, VA), numerous degree recitals and freelance work (Peabody Conservatory, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Nebraska Wesleyan University). Awarded the Hope College Distinguished Artist Award, the Presidential Scholarship, the Freshman Music Prize, the Swaby Scholarship, and the Jean Anderson Palmer Memorial Award. Awarded a two-year graduate assistantship at the Peabody Conservatory of Music (1999-2001). Three-time consecutive winner of the Hope College annual Bach Competition. Former director of music, Point o' Pines Camp for Girls, Brant Lake, NY (1999-2000) and Hope College's Childrens' Performance Troupe (1999).

Ms. Quimby-Hopkins currently resides in Buffalo with her husband Jack, her children Connor and Adrienne, their beta fish Gerald Finzi, and Nadja, a singing Oriental shorthair kitty.
